Stop Dreaming, Start Flying!

Hi, I’m JR, The Traveling Tech Guy and I would like to thank you for checking out my site. If you have ever dreamed or at least, thought about flying RC model airplanes but, you’re not sure on how and where to get started, you’ve come to the right place!

When I started in hobby back in the 80’s, I wasn’t fortunate enough to have anyone to guide me so, I bought a plane I thought would be easy to fly, spent too much money on all the gear only to crash it on the first flight. Feeling totally discouraged, I gave up and quit. I was fortunate enough to become friends with an RC pilot that took me under his wings. He coached me every step of the way and I became a proficient RC pilot.

Now I want to pass along the knowledge I have gained to guide others into becoming proficient RC pilots. From choosing the best first airplane to what transmitters and gear you’ll need plus, how to do it without spending a lot of money! I also get to travel around to RC events to show you some amazing airplanes in action.
